The Iconic Red Lip

So today has been a stressful one. The internet stopped working at my house which meant I couldn’t complete any of my university work or even write a blog post online. Both of which are super important to me!

I need to be able to write my dissertation but I also don’t want to miss my Sunday upload time. Since starting my blog I have worked hard to make sure I consistently upload on Wednesday and Sunday and it would be super annoying if I couldn’t do that! So, I am writing this blog post on word hoping that by this time tomorrow I will have internet to be able to upload this. If you’re reading this…it worked hooray!

Anyway, on to the actual blog post. Seeing as my last blog post was about my Louboutin shoes I thought I would write a second post on Christian Louboutin, however this time it’s about a lipstick! I received a Christian Louboutin lipstick as a valentine’s gift from my every lovely boyfriend (I mean his generosity really helps with content for my blog!). I have wanted one of these lipsticks for the longest time, I mean everything from the packaging to lipstick tube look stunning and if a product looks that good then it is bound to be worth the money!

I received a red Christian Louboutin lipstick in the shade rouge Louboutin. I really wanted to get red because it is evidently Christian Louboutin’s stand out colour. The next choice to make was weather to go for a satin finish or a matte finish. Although I do own a range of both satin and matte lips I decided to go with velvet matte. I thought it would look more luxury on the lips – plus I hoped it would last longer.

Although these lipsticks are a lot of money and this is something to consider when thinking about purchasing one, I would definitely say they are worth the money. I know I say this a lot in my blog posts, but I genuinely never write blog posts on products that I don’t like. All the products I recommend I love!

When I put the lipstick on for the first time I was presently surprised, as well as looking great on the lips it felt great! It sat perfectly on the lips and didn’t appear blotchy which so many mattes do, it looked and felt perfect as well as comfortable. These lipsticks are very pigmented however, so I did need to be careful that I didn’t apply over my lip line by accident because I would have never got it off! I know this because the lipstick lasted all day and had barely moved… it looked like I had just put it on.

Along with the lipstick being amazing, I need to talk about the packaging. It is some of the most beautiful packaging I have ever seen. The solid metal body is reminiscent of a precious vial, it is like something magical from Harry Potter! So sleek and elegant! I also love the turret crown cap, it’s probably my favourite part. It is a mix between rock-chic and art deco, with a hint of glamour. You can also wear this lipstick as a necklace by attaching the ribbon to the small ring at the top of the lipstick! Although I probably wouldn’t do this however I do think this is such a unique idea. The lipstick is also presented in a beautiful black lacquer carton jewellery box which looks so elegant sat on a dressing table.

So, I have waffled on for about five paragraphs now about how much I love this lipstick. Although expensive at £70, these lipsticks are so worth it. Christian Louboutin do a range of colours and finishes meaning there is a perfect shade for everyone. Christian Louboutin also do a range of other beauty products which I am yet to try… what this space!
