Get A Festive Glow this Christmas

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI wanted to create a post about all my favourite highlighters and thought what better time to do it than just before Christmas when everyone is going to be going to Christmas parties and want to achieve that glowly look! I mean Christmas is all about sparkle right?!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetIve put together all my favourite highlighters ranging from drug store to higher end, although Im sure there are plenty more amazing highlighters out there! I want to talk about:

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Sun Dipped

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in Aura

Becca Cosmetics Compact in Prosecco Pop (Ive linked Champagne Pop)

Benefit High Beam

Iconic Original

Mua Luxe Highlight Shimmer Stick

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetAnyone who knows me know that I LOVE a highlighter, I thinks its because they are always so beautiful and glittery and you can get so many pretty ones! I purchased the Sun Dipped Palette in America last year and love it, although on reflection some of the colours are probably slightly dark for me. The palette includes four colours in Bronzed, Summer, Tourmaline and Moonstone. This palette is perfect if you have a tan and adds a really pretty bronzed highlight.

The palette is huge and each highlight will last ages, which makes it worth the £42 it costs, which I think is slightly pricey. However, the highlighter are all very pigmented and buildable. This palette would be great for someone who wants a range of different colours/tones but doesn’t want to buy loads of different highlighters.

The Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in Aura was my first proper highlighter and I felt so special when I treated myself to it. It felt so high end and I love Urban Decay as a brand. Aura is a slightly more coral shade with gold glitter running through it. This highlighter is very delicate and applies very slightly but is super buildable if you want a more obvious glowy look. I also love the packaging of this product as it looks very high end (well it is!), it also comes with a quite big flat brush to apply with – the perfect Christmas gift!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetNow onto my favourite highlighter probably ever, the Becca Cosmetics highlight in Prosecco Pop. I love this highlight it is amazing, so pigmented and looks amazing on the skin. It is a true gold shimmer that isn’t too dark but sparkly enough to take your make up from drab to glam! I could literally rave about this product so much, its a powder but very fine so it doesn’t appear grainy on the face. It also applies beautifully with a highlighter brush. This highlight unfortunately was a limited edition one, however don’t despair there is another one in champagne pop which I nearly bought and is just as good and definitely something I want to purchase!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetAlthough not technically a highlight I don’t think, I love benefit high beam as it adds a shine to those areas of the face you want to accentuate. I love applying this under highlight to get that extra pop. I also love that you can buy this product in a smaller travel size as well as a big size. This product is so versatile and as a liquid blends easily into the skin without looking cakey.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe next highlighter the Iconic Original I wont go on about to much as a talked about it a lot in my Holy Grail Makeup blog post. All I will say though that this highlight will make you stand out at a Christmas party because it is amazing!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetAnd finally the MUA Luxe Highlighter shimmer stick. Although this highlighter is only £4 I wear this as my everyday highlight and it does an amazing job. Obviously it doesn’t apply as well as some of the other products and can be a little bit grainy, it’s still a great highlighter for the price. Its a light pink shimmer and works really well when blended in with your finger. This is the perfect highlight for everyday use and can be easily replaced when it runs out without the thought of spending a lot of money.

Top to Bottom: Bronzed, Summer, Tourmaline, Moonstone, Naked Aura, Prosecco Pop, Mua Luxe, High Beam, Iconic Original

I love all these products and use all of them regularly so would 100% recommend them if you are looking for a new highlighter for the festive season or even looking to get someone a gift!  If anyone has any questions about any of the highlighters mentioned pop them in the comments and I will reply as soon as possible.
