Affordable Makeup Favourites

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetMy blog is about to get all kinds of festive! I’ve decided at the end of November that it’s ok to have Christmas themed photos, so without further ado i’m going to get on with it!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI have already talked about my holy grail make up products, so I thought I would do a blog post about my favourite drug store products, which you could also buy as little stocking fillers for people.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe first product I want to talk about is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. This is my all time favourite concealer ever and I have literally gone through so many tubes of it. I wear the shade 01 Ivory because I am quite pale but this product is perfect. It blends in well, isn’t heavy on the skin and does exactly what it says… makes you look more awake! I swear by this product and for such a reasonable price you really can’t go wrong.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe second product goes hand in hand with the concealer and its the Rimmel Long Lasting Powder. I swear by this product because for day to day wear I don’t really wear foundation I just use this powder. I apply this powder all over my face with a dense real techniques brush and it literally lasts all day. It is medium coverage but blends really nicely to leave a smooth flawless finish, which is amazing from a powder. I wear this product every day and its such a fine consistency that it doesn’t clog pours or feel heavy on the skin. I wear 05 Silky beige in this which is just slightly darker than the concealer so I don’t look too pale. I would recommend applying this powder with a brush rather than anything else because it is easiest as the powder does tend to go everywhere if you put quite a lot on.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetAnother product by Rimmel that I love is the Rimmel Radiance Brick which I tend to use a bronzer type product. I love a shimmer bronzer (not to everyones taste I know) but it leaves such a nice glow that you can apply lightly or build up. The size of the product is quite big as well so its easy to swirl a brush in it with ease. I also think this product is good for the slightly pale girl like me!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe next product I want to talk about is the Maybelline brow precise fiber filler. I love this product and have used it for years, although I thing the product changed slightly recently. I fill my brows with powder and then use this product to set my brows after. The product sets the brows and has a slight colour which makes your brows slightly darker depending on the colour you buy – I wear medium brown. The product has a small brush so doesn’t go everywhere when applied and it dries very quickly. I literally swear by a brow gel and my beauty routine wouldn’t be complete without it.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetNow onto one of my favourite drug store eye shadows the Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo. This product is a cream eyeshadow and I have it in the colour on and on bronze, which is a gold/bronze shimmer colour. I love this product because it applies so smoothly and you can wear it on its own or use it as a base. Its also a really nice product for day or evening wear. The one thing I would say is this product can dry quickly, so make sure you put the lid on properly after using.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetNow onto lip products… my favourite! The first lip product I want to talk about is the NYX soft matte lip cream. The formula of this product is so smooth and soft it literally feels like you’re wearing nothing. It applies nicely and you only really have to reapply after eating. I only have the one colour at the moment, but I am definitely thinking about some of the other colours as I love wearing lipsticks in the autumn/winter.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetNow onto my favourite drug store product Revlon super lustrous lipstick in Black Cherry (A great dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s Glastonberry Lipstick). This product is a dark deep purple colour and is matte. I love wearing this colour of an evening especially in autumn/winter. As this product isn’t too expensive it does come off, so will need re applying but if you have quite moisturised lips this shouldnt be too bad. I also love the packaging of this product, its super simple but super effective with the gold detailing. This is a must have lipstick for me!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI absolutely love these products and hope it gives you an insight into some super drug store products! I also hope it gives you some stocking filler inspiration. If you want to buy any of the products I will link them below:

I couldn’t be without the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – I use it everyday and must have repurchased it countless amounts of times!
