2018 – Goals for the Year Ahead

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetHappy New Year!

It’s 2018, can you believe it? It literally feels like it should be 2012 and that 2007 was not that long ago. 2007 was 11 years ago, how old does that make me feel then? Alas, we are heading into a new year, a fresh start, a clean slate, day 1 of 365.

I’m not one for going out getting drunk or having a huge night out to celebrate, i’m quite happy to chill at home with family seeing the new year in watching the London fireworks. As i’m not really into new year I don’t set myself resolutions, one because if you aren’t going to change something throughout the year why would you suddenly change it because it’s a new year and two because I never stick to them. Resolutions for me last about 2 days max and then I forget what it was I was sticking to.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetBecause I don’t set resolutions I wanted to write a post about the goals I really want to achieve in 2018. I like to set myself goals so that I can feel proud of myself when I achieve them and I would love to be able to look back at this post at the end of this year and go yes I achieved all of this and *possibly* more!

My first goal for the year is to work super hard to finish my degree in order to end up with an amazing grade that will help me get my first job in my chosen profession. I finish my degree in May so up until then I am going to make sure that I continue to work hard and to be proud of the work I produce. I want to walk across that graduation stage knowing I worked as hard as I could, and get the grade to prove it. However, I also need to remember to give myself a break sometimes so I don’t burn myself out, this is something I find super difficult because I always want to work all hours of the day to finish my work instead of having a break.

My second goal for the year is to improve my blog and additional social media                    accounts. I am absolutely loving blogging and then uploading photos to instagram,            it’s so fun writing the posts and making all the photos look beautiful! This year I                  want to aim to buy my own domain name and possibly a custom theme. Pipdig                    templates look amazing, so I would love to invest in one! Ultimately, I want to                      improve my content, grow and learn and be proud of the content I create. I want to            look at my photos and read back my blog posts and think yeah I love that, it’s                      amazing! To do this I am going to make sure I 100% love what I am posting and                  that I don’t rush anything, just because I want to post something. At the end of the              day it’s quality over quantity!

My third and final goal for 2018 is to make sure I plan in time to spend with my                  amazing boyfriend and friends and family. I can often get wrapped up in working              hard and miss out on opportunities to do fun things. This year I want to spend as                much time with my loved ones as possible having fun and I want to capture the                  moments so I can look back on them! Hopefully uni and looking for a job don’t                    take up to much of my time (something which does sometimes happen) and I can                make sure I spend time with my lovely boyfriend. I love this goal and want to make            sure I achieve it so I have loads of amazing memories to look back on, because let’s            be honest memories with friends and family are the ones you look back on the                    most!
