Favourite Foundations!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetIt’s Sunday evening, this post is a little bit late and i’m feeling a little bit tired. I’ve been lucky enough to have a four day weekend because of the snow… wahoo! However, last week I got struck with the most horrendous cold so i’ve spent my snow days and the weekend trying to rest and recuperate instead of doing the endless amount of work that needs doing.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI’ve been feeling super stressed recently and have been longing for summer to arrive so I can have a break, but there is so much to do before then. Like I said in a previous post because i’ve been stressed i’ve been dealing with a bit of break out. So, I thought this would be an apt time to share my favourite foundations.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI know what you’re all thinking, if you’ve had a break out etc you shouldn’t be wearing foundation and things. However, when you’re feeling rubbish about your skin and you’ve got an occasion to go to or you’re even just leaving the house, you want to feel good about yourself.  That’s why i’m writing this post, I know if I feel like this there will definitely be other people feeling like this.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe first foundation I ever properly tried was the Topshop foundation. I had always steered clear of foundation in my early teenage years so buying this for the first time was so exciting. I love this foundation as it is not too thick however it is buildable and provides a good coverage. I did buy this foundation in a colour that was slightly too dark so I do tend to mix this when I wear it, so I would say to test this foundation before buying it as it is slightly different on than it is in the bottle.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe second foundation I ever bought was the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Mont Blanc. I bought this foundation as I had heard so many people rave about it. However I wouldn’t say it’s one of my favourites. I got it matched in the shop to my skin tone but when I wear it, it comes out so much lighter and I look like a ghost so I have to mix it. The foundation is quite watery however it is easy to apply and does look amazing on. For some reason I just couldn’t get on with it for no real reason in particular. I think if I bought this foundation in the correct colour I would like it a lot more, so maybe thats something to think about. If I repurchased I think I would go a shade or two darker… so I don’t end up looking like casper the ghost!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe next foundation I want to talk about is the Iconic foundation stick. This is possibly one of my favourite foundations as it is slightly thicker than the others being that it isn’t a liquid. This is definitely my night out foundation as it is quite full coverage. I love applying this all over and then blending with a brush or beauty blender, your skin literally looks flawless after application. I have used this foundation stick so much that I have nearly run out so definitely need to repurchase soon! I love Iconic make up and they cater to so many different skin tones, that you really can’t go wrong with this foundation stick. I would 100% recommend.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetThe final foundation I want to talk about is new to my collection and its the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder foundation. This foundation is glowy and light, so definitely not someone who is looking for a heavy coverage. I love wearing this during the day time when i’m looking for that extra spring in my step. It literally feels like you aren’t wearing foundation when you have this on but it makes your skin look amazing! I love pairing this with the Charlotte Tilbury concealer, it makes me feel like I can take on the world!
