Planning a wedding is a completely new quantity for most and a lot of pressure can be put on planning the ‘perfect’ day. However, planning the perfect day, if you have a lack of knowledge about weddings can be tricky. I’m only about 4 months into planning my wedding but I wanted to write a blog post about where I have found inspiration so far, for any other bride to be’s out there!
Luckily, I have been to a fair few weddings over the years, so had a bit of an idea about the types of things I like and didn’t like so much. When I got engaged obviously the first place I went to for inspiration was Pinterest. I mean tell me a girl who doesn’t have a secret wedding Pinterest board? Because this girl does!
Pinterest is such a good place to start for wedding inspo because you can literally type in your ideas to the search bar and will be presented with a huge range of photos about that one aspect! I especially love looking at wedding’s of different colour schemes and flowers to get ideas! I also LOVE looking at hundreds of beautiful different wedding dresses, it was so much fun!
Instagram is also a really good place to get wedding inspiration. I love looking at the discovery board and then finding really lovely accounts and even wedding suppliers! It’s such a good way to find wedding suppliers around the country and even wedding suppliers close to you!
I use instagram a lot like Pinterest. I save my favourite images and have then compiled them into various wedding folders that I can easily click through for inspiration! I also love using Instagram to browse through the pages of people who have recently got married and have uploaded pictures of their days… it’s so lovely seeing how people created their special days!
Another place I love to get wedding inspiration is not on the internet but actually at Wedding Fairs! I mean this is a pretty obvious one. Wedding Fairs are a great place to find different suppliers to get ideas or even to use for your big day.
Although I love going to Wedding Fairs, nosying around and trying lots of cake, I must say that my Fiancé found the first whole experience a little overwhelming with people wanting to talk to us in all directions! We have been to a couple of fairs since then and he found the later less overwhelming and we then enjoyed nosying around all the different stands looking at what people had to offer.
We even managed to find a lady who we have since used to create our Save the Dates and Invites!
I would say these are the three main places that I am getting wedding inspiration from while I’ve been planning. I’m only four months in and we still have a lot to plan so I would love to know where you get your wedding inspiration from! Is there anywhere I should be looking but haven’t? Let me know!
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. Also if you haven’t already, check out my social media as I use it to update you all on new blog posts!
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!
