So I’ve not actually posted over here for about 3 weeks because I’ve been completely snowed under at work. However, I’m back and ready to get posting again as I’ve missed it so much! So today’s post is quite apt due to the deary weather we’ve been having as it’s about ways to wear black in summer.
As I said previously I have been trying to inject more colour into my outfit however I am naturally more of a monochrome girl. I absolutely love wearing black and think it is so versatile and goes with literally ever other colour.
I always find wearing black slightly harder in the summer when it’s warmer but I’ve actually found that you can create some really fun outfits. I’ve experimented a lot with black and have found that in summer it’s fine to mix and match black with bright colours.
I recently got this silky red top from Topshop which has such a fun pattern and it looks great against black. It also has a tie up back so it is quite backless, adding a nice bit of detail.
I also find that adding different textures to outfits can help to make it stand out. Hence why I’ve paired a denim jacket with a bright silky top. I love this outfit as I really feel the bright top is stands out and that is exactly what I wanted!
So my top tips for wearing a black outfit in summer would be:
- Wear a range of textures – mix it up with silks, denims and other materials
- Wear a bright colour that stands out against the black
- Mix up patterns and styles, wear more summery pieces with your black clothing!
Outfit Details:
- Top – Topshop
- Jeans – Topshop
- Shoes – H&M
- Jacket – Zara
- Sunglasses – Accessorize
This was a short and sweet blog post as I feel the pictures do more of the talking than the writing will! I’d love to know how you wear black in the summer, let me know your suggestions!
